Step1: Open Outlook and click on File>>Import and Export
Step 2: Now a pop-up windows [Import and Export Wizard] appears. Select Import file from program or file and click Next button.
Step 3: Now select the type of file to import. In this case select the Personal Folder File (PST) and click Next.
Step 4: Now you three options
- Replace Duplicate with items imported [This will remove all the duplicate items during import process].
- Allow Duplicate to be created.
- Do not import Duplicate.
Step 5: You can choose folders to import from PST. Also there is an option to include subfolders.
You can also use Filters to filter out unwanted emails from being import and select only particular on based on subject, To, From etc.
Step 6: Click on Finish Button and you will get same old PST file structure into new PST. This is the easiest method to import old PST file which works on every version of MS Outlook.
Error While importing PST Files
You might get error like "This personal folder file (.pst) is already in use in the current profile." which is because you are trying to import file which is already present in your current profile.
You can get rid of this PST error either by changing your current profile or by choosing the suitable file to import which is not present in current profile.
